Warren, PA. - Albert A. Brown of Warren passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the St. Vincent Health Care Center in Erie, Pa. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 11 am in the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 West State Street, Wellsville, New York. Burial with full military honors will take place in the Whitesville Rural Cemetery.

Albert A. Brown, 86, of Warren, PA.. died Wednesday evening (April 13, 2011) at St. Vincent Health Care Center, Erie, Pa.

He was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Spring Mills, to the late Albert and Katherine Brown. He was a graduate of Wellsville High School, Wellsville. He has resided in Warren, Pa. since 1992 and was a former resident of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Albert had served with the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant, Company "A" 68th Armored Infantry, 14th Armored Division. He had served under General Patton's 3rd Army in Italy, Germany and France. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and European Theater Ribbon. Albert had worked in the Oil Field of Bradley Producing Wells for 20 years. He owned and operated a lounge in Whitesville for 12 years and also a lounge in Portville. He was employed with the Corp of Commissioners in Kingston, Ontario, Canada for four years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a member of the Wellsville V.F.W., Warren American Legion Post 135, Warren Moose Lodge 109 and the Warren Eagles Aerie Club. 

He is survived by his wife, Frances Falber Olowin Brown, whom he married in 1992; two daughters, Bonnie McCullough of Georgia and Debbie Miller of Whitesville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Brown of Wellsville; one stepson, Kenneth Olowin (Jane) of Erie, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Renee Samuelson of Sheffield, Pa.; six stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Ellison Brown; and one sister, Bertha Stevens; one brother, Donald Brown. 

Friends may call at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, Pa., on Saturday from noon - 1 p.m., when a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted with Rev. Fr. Richard Toohey, pastor, officiating. There will also be a service in Wellsville. The date will be announced. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through St. Joseph Church Educational Center Fund or a charity of one's choice. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of funeral arrangements.
