Alice J. KIEFER

Alice J. Kiefer, 90, of Wellsville, died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Wellsville Manor Care Center, with loved ones by her side. She was born January 4, 1935, in Cheektowaga, the daughter of the late Leo L. and Regina D. (Broniskzewski) Kaminski. On August 14, 1954, in Cheektowaga, she married Kenneth Kiefer, who predeceased her in 1980.

She was raised in Cheektowaga and graduated from Depew High School in 1953. She moved to Wellsville in August 1970 and was a loving mother and homemaker. Following her husband’s death, she went to work for the Allegany-Steuben ARC, retiring in the late 90’s. Outside of her employment, she was a member of the former Christian Temple, and a Lady Elk. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her, especially her lap dog, Sparky.

She is survived by: her children Sandra (Peter) Ahrens of Snyder, Shelley Chaffee of Wellsville, and Kenneth Kiefer Jr. of Wellsville; son-in-law, Andrew Woolard of Ijamsville, MD; grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, Ashley, Brian, Michael, Nicholas, Laura, Matthew, and Jonah; greatgrandchildren, Campbell, Logan, Camden, Amelia, Ainsley, Tucker, Yeardley, Archer, and Harper; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, and husband of 26 years, she was predeceased by: a daughter, Susan Woolard; and beloved stepfather, Edward Hoehn.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4 – 7 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home of Wellsville, 34 West State Street.
