Ann McKAY, 85, of Pittsford, NY, passed away April 23, 2025.
Born January 23, 1940, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Felix and Marie Cristini Biancuzzo. In 1980, she married Russell M. McKay of Pittsford, who predeceased her in 2009. Ann was a 1958 graduate of Belmont Central School and Valedictorian of her class. She continued her education and graduated Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1962, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Afterwards, she taught for the City of Rochester School District until her retirement in 1996. She then served as a substitute teacher for 10 years. She was an active member of her community, leading monthly “Best Sellers with Ann” programs at the local library for several years. An expert knitter and seamstress, Ann also volunteered at Craft Bits and Pieces in Fairport until 2019.
She is survived by a sister, Marie Biancuzzo (David Vaklyes); nephew, David L. (Andrea) Bartlett of Victor; niece, Karen Bartlett-Morse of Auburn; and brother-in-law, James E. Bartlett. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Norma Bartlett in 2022.
A memorial service for family and neighbors was held in Ann’s beloved backyard garden. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pittsford Community Library or the Pittsford Community Center.
