KEATING SUMMIT, PA - Barbara A. McLeod, 84, of Kansas Hollow Rd., Bolivar, NY, formerly of Keating Summit, passed away Sunday (Nov. 28, 2021) in the Wellsville Manor, Wellsville, NY.

Born February 26, 1937, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Earl L. and Mildred E. Seyler Russell.  On March 30, 1958, in Keating Summit, she married James L. McLeod, who died Sept. 30, 2007. They were married 49 years.

Barbara was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Coudersport High School.

She was the Keating Township, Potter County, tax collector for many years before her retirement.

Barbara was a member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was the financial secretary for the church, and member of the Pastor, Parish, Relations Committee.

Surviving is a daughter, Mildred “Millie” L. (Thomas) Fronczak of Bolivar, NY, 7 grandchildren: Becky, Emily, Dillon, Adam, Victor, James & Alexander; 11 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Laura McLeod of Keating Summit; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, a son, Earl; a daughter, Paula McLeod; three brothers: Robert H., John E. and Thomas E. Russell; and two sisters, Enginia I. Stives and Virginia Fancher.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2021) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Culver, officiating.  Burial will be in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau, PA.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
