Obituary

Beverly Hallock DeVORE, 81, of Wellsville, NY, was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Ron, on April 29, 2026. Born January 9, 1945, she was the daughter of Richard B. and Delia Durand Hallock. Legend has it Bev was the last baby born at Fillmore Hospital in Fillmore. On June 1, 1991, she married the love of her life, Ronald DeVore, beginning a chapter of companionship and adventure.

Throughout her life, Bev wore many hats, from slot operator in Reno, NV to wedding florist, owning her own business, and serving customers at various local restaurants. After meeting Ron, she moved to Collins, NY, settling into life as a homemaker and devoted caretaker.

Bev and Ron shared a love of the outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting together. They spent their winters in Bradenton, FL, where they formed lasting friendships with many couples from across the United States and Canada. Bev enjoyed crafting, cooking for those she loved, birdwatching, and tending to both her pets and the neighborhood wildlife.

Surviving are: her sons, Walter Jack (Eunice) Nary of Wellsville, Stephen Calhoun of Oklahoma, and David (Anna) Drury of Rochester; her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey Drury, Cordel Nary, Jane Drury, Coco Drury, and George Drury; her sister, Janet Murray; dear friend, Connie Scott; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Bev was predeceased by her brothers, Richard B. Hallock, Jr., Norman Hallock, and Wayne Hallock; her sister, Janice Anderson; and her beloved “fur babies,” DaZee and Barney, who were always close to her heart.

Bev’s family extends a heartfelt thanks to all her neighbors on Lindy Lane in Wellsville, who provided friendship and community in her later years. A special thank you is given the Ives and Klesa families for their care and support.

In accordance with Bev’s wishes, there will be no formal service. She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SPCA serving Allegany County, P.O. Box 181, Belmont, NY 14813. Arrangements are under the direction of Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, 34 West State Street, Wellsville, NY. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.
