PORT ALLEGANY- Bruce K. Edgreen, of Mill St., passed away in his home Friday (Feb. 4, 2022), with family by his side.

Born November 26, 1934, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Bruce A. and Naomi Blanchard Edgreen. On December 28, 1957, in Smethport, he married Maxine D. Walker, who died Apr. 12, 2003.

Bruce was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1952.

He was employed with Pierce Glass Co.-Saint Gobain Container Co., of Port Allegany, as production manager, retiring in 1994, after 44 years of service.

He was a veteran, having served with the US Army from 1957-59.

Bruce was a member of F. & A.M, Liberty Lodge 505, and Arnold Chapter 254, both of Port Allegany, Potter Commandry 69, Coudersport, Coudersport Consistory, and Zem Zem Shrine of Erie, PA. He was a life member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany, Bradford Gun Club, and member of the American Legion, Post 258, Port Allegany, and Canoe Place Fish & Game Club.

He loved to hunt & trap shoot.  He was an inductee into the Penn. Hall of Fame-Trap Shooting, and was Senior Penn. Trap Shooting Champion.

Surviving is a son, Bruce K. Edgreen, Jr. of Port Allegany; a daughter, Kristina V. (William) Ayers of Port Allegany; four grandchildren: Rachel Doutt of Port Allegany, Jillian Edgreen of Rochester, NY, Trey and Kendra Ayers both of Port Allegany; two great-grandchildren: Elaina and Nolan Doutt; a brother, Howard R. Edgreen of Jamestown, NY; and brother-in-law, Bud Simmons of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine, and a sister, Lorraine Simmons.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 10, 2022) with Rev. Matt Howe, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

A masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by Liberty Lodge 505, in the funeral home.
