Charles "Chick" REICHERTER

Charles "Chick" REICHERTER, 83, of Winterville, NC, formerly of Montoursville, PA, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
Friends may call at the Trinity Assembly of God, 322 Loyalsock Ave., Montoursville, PA on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Allyn R. Baker will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Korean War Veterans Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery.
Born July 2, 1934, in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of William and Phoebe Smith Reicherter.  A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the US Army from 1953  -  1955.  A graduate of Barrington College and Columbia University, Chick devoted his life to education. He was Superintendent of the Northern Potter School District in Ulysses, PA, then moved to Montoursville and retired from BLAST Intermediate Unit #17.  In retirement, Chick could be found in his garage with his woodworking or out with the Korean War Veterans military honor guard performing rites at funerals or attending veteran's events.  Chick was man of strong faith and freely shared his love of God.
Surviving are: his wife, Debbie Scott Reicherter; four children, Patty (Dane) Slaughter of Anderson, SC, Peter (Elise) Reicherter of Garnersville, NY, Philip (Robyn) Reicherter of Sussex, NJ, and Katie (Patrick) Lucey of Fuquay Varina, NC; and six grandchildren, Jadyn Slaughter, Kaelyn Slaughter, Courtney Reicherter, Stephanie Reicherter, Connor Lucey, and Jack Lucey. His grandchildren called him Poppy or Papa and he loved each of them dearly. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Honey (John) Dunn; sisters-in- law, Jeanne (Todd) Alderson, Kim (Jeff) Gardner, and Stella Reicherter; brothers- in-law, Steve (Peggy) Scott, Carm Scott, and Steve Yackel and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bill Reicherter; and his sister, Alida Yackel.
