Dakota M. JONES

Dakota M. JONES, 28, of Wellsville, NY, died unexpectedly Monday, October 27, 2025 in his home. 

Born July 29, 1997, in Wellsville, he was the son of Rolland Brian Jones and Shelly Jo Bastian. He was employed as a general contractor for several years. Dakota was a former member of the Dyke St. Engine Co. #2. 

Surviving are: his father, Brian (Angela) Jones of Wellsville; his mother, Shelly (Zack) Billings of Wellsville; three children, Walker Joseph Tubbs, Hunter Eugene Tubbs, and Elizabeth Lynn Jones; two brothers, Jordan Bartoo and Jacob Bartoo; paternal grandmother, Sharon Jones of Wellsville; maternal grandfather, Robert Bastian of Bouckville; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Bastian of Shongo; paternal great-grandmother, Carol Cramer of Palmyra, MO; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William J. Jones, Jr.; and maternal grandmother, Patrica Edwards. 

Friends may call at Crosstown Alliance Church, 450 N. Highland Ave., Wellsville, NY on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jon Schink will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville. 

Memorials may be made to the family for Dakota’s children’s college funds, Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, or Dyke St. Engine Co. #2.
