Dakota J. SHEETS, 32, of Wellsville, NY, died Friday, May 1, 2026, in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. 

Born May 4, 1993, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of John D. and Kimberly L. Goerner Sheets. A graduate of Wellsville High School, he was employed by Otis Eastern for a few years and then Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in the maintenance department. 

Surviving are: his parents, John and Kim Sheets; his daughter, Harper; two brothers, Jeff (Lindsay) Easton of Ulysses, PA and Dalton (Courtney) Sheets of Hornell; a sister, Brianne (Zack) Putman of Westfield, PA; a special grandma, Jill Easton; aunts, Bobbie Lee Gorg, Lynda Lee Goerner, Deanne Lee Klesa, and Mary Ann Azzato; an uncle, Thomas Goerner; two nieces, Alyssa and Millie; two nephews, Isaac and Liam; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Arnold R. and Leona M. Goerner; and paternal grandparents, George and Ethel Sheets. 

A gathering to celebrate Dakota’s life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Wellsville American Legion Post #702, 23 Jefferson St., Wellsville, NY, beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Stannards Cemetery.
