David W. KNOX, 82, of Wellsville, NY, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in his home. 

Born June 16, 1943, in Wellsville, he was the son of Clyde P. and Alice H. Meyn Knox. A 1961 graduate of Wellsville High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1965 – 1967. On June 13, 1992, in Trinity Lutheran Church of Wellsville, he married Joyce A. Schreier, who predeceased him on September 24, 2023. Dave was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville as a millwright. He was a member of the Wellsville American Legion, Wellsville Honor Guard, Wellsville Elks Club, Wellsville Moose, and Wellsville VFW. 

Surviving are: four step-children, Robert (Judi) Roberts of Hornell, Kendra (Tom) Hennessy of Wellsville, Kenny (Susan) Roberts of Greece, and Cheryl (Terry) Bailey of Hilton; six grandchildren, Allison Roberts, Sarah Hennessy, Shea Hennessy, Codey Bailey, Caila Bailey, and Zach Harnischfeger; a great-grandson, Beau Stephens; a sister, Linda (Howard) White of Wellsville; a brother, Paul Knox of Wayland; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, James Knox and Ronald Knox; and a granddaughter, Samatha Hennessy. 

Friends may call at Olney-Foust & Embser Funeral Homes & Cremation, 34 West State Street, Wellsville on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with a graveside service following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Wellsville American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Wellsville Elks Club.
