David P. TUBBS

David P. TUBBS, 76, of Westfield, PA, passed away on April 16, 2025 at Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville. 

He was born February 16, 1949, the son of Derwood S. and Doris M. McKendrick Tubbs. On June 27, 1969, he married Joyce L. Cady, who predeceased him on July 9, 2011. He was a graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, Class of 1967, and went on to attend Breeden Welding School in Genesee. 

Dave worked for many years at Eberle Tanning Company in Westfield, where he was employed as a crane operator. He later moved to Florida and retired from Walt Disney World in Orlando. He worked at Disney as an Animation Attraction Area Mechanic and Diver for the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage dive crew, part of Magic Kingdom's Engineering Services team. In his role with DACS (Digital Analog Control Systems) Dave was a master mechanic responsible for maintaining the fleet of diesel-powered submarines, the show control systems, and the underwater animation elements. 

Dave had a deep love for nature and the outdoors, especially when he was fishing or hunting deer and turkey. He was an avid reader and loved having the latest copy of a Lee Child or David Baldacci novel. 

In addition to his late wife, David is preceded in death by his twin sons, Wade J. Tubbs (1983) and Wayne D. Tubbs (2024). 

Surviving are: three children, daughter, Gail M. (Lynn) Morehouse of Manassas, VA, and two sons, Thomas J. Tubbs and Steven A. (Susan) Tubbs, both of Decatur, TN; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Tubbs of Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren, Lauren A. (Joseph) Colon, Wade A. (Stephanie) Tubbs, McKenna Morehouse, and Tyler Tubbs; a brother, Terry (Linda) Tubbs of Wake Forest, NC; sister, Kathleen Looney, Hudson, FL; uncle, Dale (Marlea) Tubbs of Westfield; brothers-in-law, Paul (Barbara) Cady of Cato, NY, Ronald Cady of Wellsville, NY, and Marlin Cady of Ulysses; cousins; nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call at St. John's Episcopal Church, 205 Elm Street, Westfield, PA on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Thomas Gramley will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Westfield.
