DUKE CENTER- Deanna D. Miller, 83, of Main St., passed away Thursday (Apr. 28, 2022) in Lakeview Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.

Born January 23, 1939, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Alvin E. and Florence C. Jackson Barber.  On Aug. 5, 1957, in Port Allegany, she married John “Jack” Johnson, who died July 9, 1976. On June 29, 1992, in Easton, PA, she married Raymond C. Miller, who died November 2017.

Deanna was a longtime resident of the area and graduated from the Port Allegany High School, class of 1957.

She was employed as a baby sitter, notary, and worked at the Backus Co. of Smethport, before her retirement.

She attended the Hinsdale Kingdom Hall, Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Deanna enjoyed reading, crocheting, her cats, and exploring many yard and garage sales. She also enjoyed her bible studies.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda L. (Doug) Glenn, and Wendy A. (Jeff) Tripp both of Eldred; two stepdaughters, Teri L. Miller of Wall, NJ, Sandi L. Miller of Sladington, PA; a stepson, Raymond C. (Kim) Miller of Macungi, PA; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grand-children; two brothers, Maynard S. Barber and Clark E. Barber both of Port Allegany; and two sisters, Jane M. (Richard) Ford of Roulette, and Laura L. Roundsville of Gladstone, MI; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Barber of Emporium; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, John and Raymond, a son, Gene Johnson, and two brothers, Frederick, and Anthony “Sonny” Barber.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday (May 1, 2022) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. with Rev. Michael Culver, officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
