Elenor E. KIRKENDALL

Elenor Elizabeth KIRKENDALL, 93, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Springville, NY, died Thursday, November 16, 2023 in Harmony Memory Care, Roanoke. 

Born December 27, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Karl and Luise Pleiser Mayhack.  On October 23, 1950, in Rochester, NY, she married Robert K. Kirkendall, who predeceased her in July of 1980.  A graduate of West Webster High School, she continued her studies at business school in Rochester.  She was employed as a payroll clerk by Kodak in Rochester before marriage.  Later she was employed by Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District in print department.  She volunteered as treasurer for the Springville Hospital Auxiliary, Springville Historical Society, Springville Senior Citizens, Springville United Methodist Church, and Springville Meals on Wheels. 

Surviving are: two daughters, Victoria (John) Keenum of Roanoke and Mary Louise (Edward King) Kirkendall of Dearborn, MI; three grandchildren, Seth, Ian, and Brian; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and India; a niece, Elizabeth Duncan (John) Goudreau and family; and a nephew, Karl (Heather) Duncan and family.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Duncan. 

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, November 20, 2023 in Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, PA.
