Elizabeth M. PAINTER

March 8, 1935 — March 21, 2022

Elizabeth M. PAINTER, 87, of Wellsville, NY, formerly of North Fork, PA, died Monday, March 21, 2022 in her home.

She was born March 8, 1935, in Troupsburg, NY.  On July 15, 1954, in Addison, NY, she married Lee E. Painter, who predeceased her in 1989.  She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, picnics, and cookouts with her family.  Elizabeth was a member of the Sunshine Club in Scio and the Alpha-Omega Church in Belfast.  She loved to do puzzles and crafts with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are:  three sons, Danny (Jodi) Painter of Elkland, PA, Lee (John) Painter Jr. of Great Falls, SC, and Ronnie (Karen) Painter of Wellsville;  two daughters, Cathy (Stephen, Sr.) Foster of Wellsville and Cindy (Larry, Sr.) Hurler of North Fork, PA;  two “adopted” daughters, Margaret Brimmer Painter of North Fork, PA and Angie Nudd of Wellsville;  nine grandchildren;  twelve great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Chester E. Cornish of Harrison Valley, PA and Edward Cornish of Potter Brook, PA;  two sisters, Mary Johnson Howard of Scio and Georgia Ransom of Genesee;  and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles E. and Minnie Belle Greenfield Cornish;  two sons, Gary L. Painter and infant Hubert C. Painter;  a grandson, Stephen Foster, Jr.;  a great-granddaughter, Ireland E. Foster;  two brothers, Raymond Cornish and Charles Paul Cornish;  and two sisters, Merna Brimmer and Florence McCaslin;  and three brothers-in-law, Byron Kio, Homer Duff, and Arthur Johnson.

Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 4:00 PM.  Rev. Jon Schink will officiate.  Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery, Genesee, PA.
