Emiline "Em" SOKOL

Emiline M. “Em” SOKOL, 83, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Ulysses, died Friday, March 25, 2022 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.

Born May 28, 1938, in Morris, she was the daughter of James and Mildred Priset Collins.  On January 14, 1969, in Langhorn, she married Frank Sokol, who predeceased her on January 14, 2003.  Em was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Auxiliary in Ulysses, Raymond Richar VFW Auxiliary in Galeton, and Women of the Moose Chapter #556 in Galeton.  She loved playing bingo and socializing with friends.  She was known as “Aunt Dope” by her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are: six children, Becky (Kenneth) Thompson of Ulysses, James (Lori) Pepperman of Linden, Steven Pepperman of Avis, Daniel Pepperman of Jessup, MD, Linda Pepperman of Williamsport, and Nancy (Eric Sampsel) Pepperman of Linden; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Davis of Wellsboro, Connie Williams of Morris, and Donna (Lonnie) Osgood of Morris; nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Nella Lynn Preston; and a brother, Robert Collins.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 1, 2022 at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA.  Rev. Mel Ternes will officiate.  Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
