Fay E. WOOD, 74, of Ulysses, PA, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
Born April 22, 1942, in Union City, PA, she was the daughter of Floyd and Marian Jones Jordan.
On June 30, 1962, in Union City, PA, she married Clifford J. Wood, who survives.
Fay was a 1960 graduate of Union City High School and a 1962 graduate of Erie Business School.
Her life was devoted to public service. She was a 45 year member, longtime treasurer, and first lady firefighter of Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company, charter member and 20 year charter president of the Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance and first lady EMT, Tri-Town Fire Police Captain, member of Ulysses First Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star #95 in Ulysses, Ulysses Area Improvement Association, and Potter County American Cancer Society board of directors.
With the American Red Cross, she was a member of the McKean-Potter Chapter board of directors, National Red Cross Disaster Team, Potter County Red Cross Disaster Team as Chm., and Ulysses Area Emergency Management Coordinator. Fay served with the Red Cross at the site of terror attacks in New York in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
With the Boy Scouts of America, Fay served as a den leader, council board member, Ulysses Cub Scout committee, Ulysses Boy Scout committee chm., summer camp nurse, and on the medical staff at five national jamborees.
Additionally, she was a longtime volunteer at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and longtime CPR and EMT instructor. She served as Ulysses Borough Judge of Election and was honored as Ulysses Citizen of the Year in 2004.
Surviving besides her husband, Cliff, are: two sons, James (Deborah) Wood of Corry, PA and Scott (Tracy) Wood of Minneloa, FL; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Jordan, Morgan, and Brody. She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Martha Whitaker.

Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, Corry, PA on Tuesday, July 12th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jason K. Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
