Floyd W. GEIGER, 92, of Andrews Settlement, PA, died Monday, October 30, 2023 in UPMC Hamot, Erie.  

 

Born May 11, 1931, in Quakertown, he was the son of Harry Peter and Carrie Louise Yost Geiger.  A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954.  He was employed by American Olean Tile in Lansdale, operating the kilns and ultimately becoming a machinist.  He was married to Alice Jane Capehart.  They resided in Trumbauersville, Landsdale, and Tylersport, where they raised their two daughters, Susan and Lori.  He loved traveling and camping.  Over two decades, Floyd and the family visited the National Parks throughout the United States from the west coast of California to the east coast of Maine.  

 

After retirement, Floyd made his home in Potter County, keeping himself active and involved with various employments including, Roger Ouellette Farm, Leet Brothers, and Max Greeley and Sons, snowmobiling, and helping his neighbors. In Andrews Settlement, he met his companion and domestic partner of 42 years, Brenda Harmon.  

 

Surviving besides his two daughters, Susan Lynn (Frank) Uhrich of Bealeton, VA and Lori Jane Geiger of Dresden, ME; grandchildren, Jennifer Uhrich of Slatington, Gwendolyn (Patrick) Wilton of Bealeton, VA, Francis (Nicole) Uhrich of Gerrardstown WV, Carrie Jones of Dresden ME, and Monte (Leslie) Jones of Burlington VT; great-grandchildren Grayson Tautic, Madalynn Uhrich, and Lilyanna Uhrich; Brenda’s family who called him Poppy: children, Sherry Harmon of Hershey and John Harmon of Coudersport; grandchildren, Nick (Danielle) Harmon, April Shafer, and Mike Harmon; and great-grandchildren, Lilly, June, and Paisley.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Russell; and nine sisters, Helen, Dorothy, Alverda, Mabel, Viola, Pauline, Naomi, Emma, and Jeanette.  

 

A gathering to celebrate Floyd’s life will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at American Legion Potter Post #192, Two Buffalo Street, Coudersport, PA.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.  


Memorials may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
