George KERTIS, Jr.

George KERTIS, Jr., 76, of Coudersport, PA, formerly of Ulysses, died Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in UPMC Williamsport.  

Born February 25, 1947, in New York City, NY, he was the son of George and Anna Vrabel Kertis.  On March 21, 1987, in Richboro, he married the former Valerie J. Thiers, who predeceased him on January 13, 2014.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Veronica.  He was a 1965 graduate of Mount St. Michaels High School in New York City.  A Vietnam War Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Air Force form 1965 – 1969.  George served as a police sergeant in Philadelphia from 1969 until his medical retirement in 1986.  

Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.
