Gertrude B. Spreitzer, 87, formerly of 2129 Stannards Road passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center with her longtime friends at her side. She was born December 12, 1922 in Richmond Hills, NY the daughter of John M. and Augusta Spreitzer. On June 1, 1941 she married Werner P. Spreitzer who predeceased her on April 11, 1996.
Gertrude and Werner moved to Belmont in 1958 and to Wellsville in 1988. She had attended the First Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsville and more recently the Yorks Corners Mennonite Church. She took great pride in being a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was predeceased in addition to her husband by a sister. Elfriede Vitti in September of 2001.
A private funeral was held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home inc. in Wellsville with Rev. Stan Scoville presiding. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville. Memorial donations are suggested to the Activities Program at the Wellsville Manor Care Center.
