Irvin G. HALL, 88, of Wellsville, NY, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Hart Comfort House in Wellsville. Born January 12th, 1938, in Portville, he was the son of Mitchell Hall and Margaret Case Hall. A graduate of Friendship High School, he attended St. Bonaventure and took college classes through Air Pre-Heater. On May 25, 1979, in Wellsville, he married the former Ann Green, who survives.
Irvin worked as a manager of Quality Systems at Air Pre-Heater for 45 years. He was a past president of the Wellsville Moose Lodge #206, a member of the Wellsville American Legion, treasurer of the Scio Snowmobile Club, a volunteer firefighter for Grant Duke Hose Co.#1, played in the Wellsville Bowling League, and a Thursday night golfer at the Wellsville County Club.
He enjoyed racing at racetracks in Olean, Angelica, Holland, Perry, and Lancaster in his ‘56 and ‘60 Fords with Joe Collins Sr. as his trusted mechanic and friend. Notably, he won the 100-Lap Race in Angelica. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and snowmobiling with his brothers-in-law. Irv enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and square dancing. Additionally, he took pleasure in watching the Yankees and his nieces, children, and grandchildren play sports.
Irvin was a past president of Wellsville Girls Softball Association as well as being a board member for many years. He helped build Quack 2, the concession stand, and bathrooms. He was a softball coach, and an official umpire. After he was unable to coach and umpire, he maintained the fields for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Ann, are, four daughters, Nancy (Randy) Schultz of Virginia, Becky Bundy of Wellsville, Jamie (Christopher) Root of Scio, and Kristy (Ian) McNulty of Wellsville; a son-in-law, Rick Schultz; eight grandchildren, Trisha Alcantara, Alyssa Schultz, Kolby Kauppinen, Payson Root, Kinley Root, Millie McNulty, Charlie McNulty, and Jax McNulty; two great-grandchildren, Rosa Alcantara and Bel Alcantara; three sisters, Eunice (Don) Gerould of Rochester, Janice Miller of Rochester, and Dolores Burger of Victor; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Wendy J. Schultz; and two brothers-in-law, Ed Miller and Greg Burger.
A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A gathering to celebrate Irvin’s life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the American Legion, 23 Jefferson, Wellsville, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Wellsville Girls Softball Association, 3193 Riverside Drive, Wellsville or the Hart Comfort House of Allegany County, 141 East State Street, Wellsville.
