Jean A. Treat
PORT ALLEGANY -Jean A. Treat, 90, of W. River Rd., Portville, NY, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away Sunday (Aug. 27, 2017) in Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center, Smethport.
Born June 28, 1927, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Lawrence and Florence DeLong Manning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Treat in 1964, and longtime companion, Donald W. Cherry in 1986.
Jean had worked as a secretary for D.W. Cherry Trucking Co., Port Allegany, and most recently with Cox Busing, Port Allegany, before her retirement.
She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary, Port Allegany.
Surviving are a daughter, Darlene E. (Arthur) Milne of Portville, NY; a son, Phillip A. Treat of Newark, OH; 5 grandchildren, several step-grand-children, 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, longtime companion; three brothers, Dean, Lyle, and Larry Manning; and a sister, Donna E. McGarvey.
At Jean’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
