JoAnn M. DIXON, 82, of Hinsdale, NY, died Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. 

Born December 11, 1943, in Willoughby-Eastlake, OH, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ruth Pinkerton Hill. She was a graduate of North High School in Eastlake, OH, where she participated in JROTC. JoAnn earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in Bradford, PA. 

In 1986, in Limestone, she married Warren B. Dixon, who predeceased her on July 6, 2023. JoAnn was employed as a waitress by Perkins in Bradford for many years. She was also a writer for local newspapers and authored novels. JoAnn was a member of the Limestone Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed photography and editing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Surviving are: four sons, Edward (Amy) Dixon of McKiney TX., Michael (Virginia) Sweeney of Harrisburg, PA., Kevin Hill and Thomas (Cheryl) Sweeney, both of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters, Jean Carpenter of Middleport and Kathleen (John) See of Hinsdale; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Jim) Hicks of Limestone and Catherine Hill of Renovo, PA; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Lee Doubrava. 

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Avenue, Bradford, PA 16701.
