John W. Brown

PORT ALLEGANY- John W. Brown, 70, of N. Pine St., passed away Wednesday (April 6, 2022) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.

Born Sept 6, 1951, in Bradford, he was a son of John L. and Marjorie Manning Brown.

John was a truck driver with several local trucking companies, before his retirement.

He was a veteran having served with US Marines.

John loved to hunt & fish. He also enjoyed playing the guitar.

Surviving in addition to his former wife, Mary Ann Main, are three brothers, Gerald P. (Penny) Brown of Duke Center, Terry L. Brown of Cherryville, NC, Kevin S. (Carolyn) Brown of Mt. Jewett; a sister, Cheryl L. (Ron) Lute of Lincolnton, NC; a brother-in-law, Clyde Reedy of Cherryville, NC; a step-son, Ronald D. (Carrie South) Skiver, Jr. of Bradford; three step-daughters, Rhonda Y. (Pete) Stull of Erie, PA, Jenny L. (Jeff Martin) Saltsman of Roulette, Tracey M. (Howard) South of Naples, FL; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Bonnie Reedy.

At John’s request there will be no funeral service.

Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
