John G. CARDY, 88, of Galeton, PA, died Saturday, August 1, 2026 in his home. 

Born March 18, 1938, in Philadelphia, he was the son of Samuel George and Anna May Ochs Cardy. On February 20, 1959, he married Miriam Diane Cardy who predeceased him on January 23, 2021. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served honorably from 1956 – 1958. John was employed as a truck driver. 

Surviving are: six children, Cindy Cardy of Knoxville, Donna (Timothy) Haught of Salem, WV, Jacquie Egolf of Galeton, Tammy Hoffmeister of Galeton, Michael Cardy of Shinglehouse, and Prudence (Kevin) Fry of Galeton; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Nancy Stinley, Alice Konoza, and Kathy Boos; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Cardy. 

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2026 in the Pine Creek Valley Church, 761 Rte. 6, Gaines, PA 16921. Rev. Scott Ogden will officiate. Burial will be in Parker Hill Cemetery, Sunderlinville.
