John P. DUNN, 76, of Ulysses, PA, died Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Heritage Springs Memory Care, Muncy.  

 

Born March 18, 1947, in Seven Bridges, Coudersport, he was the son of Donald Robert and Pruella Edith Toombs Dunn. He was married to the former Honey Rounds Scott, who predeceased him on June 6, 2023.  He was a 1966 graduate of Northern Potter High School.  A Vietnam Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1968.  He was employed by the Northern Potter School District for 20 years and by National Fuel for 25 years.  John was a member of the Ulysses Free Methodist Church, Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963, Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company, and served on Ulysses Borough Council.  

 

Surviving are: three brothers, Larry W. Dunn of Cortland, NY, Robert S. Dunn of Ulysses, and Roy J. (Rhonda) Dunn of Groton, NY; two sisters, Irene Brown of Culpeper, VA and Janet Button of Salt Lake City, UT; a sister-in-law, Marie Dunn of Homer, NY; two step-sons, Steven (Peggy) Scott of Wake Forest, NC and Carmen (Janice) Scott of Ulysses; three step-daughters, Debra Reicherter of Fuquay Varina, NC, Jeanne (Todd) Alderson of Raleigh, NC, and Kimberly (Jeff) Gardner of Winterville, NC;  seven grandchildren;  19 great-grandchildren;  nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by five sisters, Christine Dunn, Esther Vera Dunn, Carol Marie Tanner Babbitt, Mary Evelyn Gardner, and Ruth E. Close; and a brother, Donald I. Dunn.  

 

Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 28, 2023 in the Free Methodist Church, Ulysses.   Rev. Allyn R. Baker will officiate.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
