Josef WAHLIG

Josef WAHLIG, 85, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of Skippack, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA.
Born February 10, 1934, in Lorsch, Germany, he was the son of Johannes and Cecilia Engelhardt Wahlig.
On February 10, 1958, at Ft. Riley, KS, he married the former Maria Schwalek, who predeceased him on July 1, 2015.
A US Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1957 - 1958.
He was employed as a tool and die maker by Jade Corp., Huntingdon Valley.  Josef was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Genesee.
Surviving are:  five children, Josef H. (Brenda) Wahlig, Daniel Wahlig, Leonard (Margie) Wahlig, Paul Wahlig, and Heidi (Christopher) Murray;  nine grandchildren;  a great-granddaughter;  a brother, Franz Wahlig of Lorsch, Germany;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cecilia Wahlig;  and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Monday, July 8, 2019 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Genesee, PA.  The Rev. Joseph V. Dougherty will be the Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, c/o St. Bibiana Church, 111 Germania St., Galeton, PA 16922.
