Joseph A. ANDERSON, 37, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, January 11, 2026 in his home. 

Born August 21, 1988, in Warsaw, he was the son of Monica M. Merritt Armstrong. The 2006 valedictorian of Andover Central School, Joey entered the US Army in 2008 until 2011, serving in Iraq. 

Surviving are: his mother, Monica, of Canisteo; three children, Joey, Alexis, and Mercedes; five siblings, Michael Anderson, Dustin Anderson, Samia Barge, Tyrece Barge, and Trey Foskey; a niece, Avery; maternal grandmother, Emma Killingbeck; adopted grandmother, Kaaren Monroe; and the mother of his children, Sara Golish. 

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Wellsville VFW starting at 3:00 PM. 

Memorials may be made to any organization helping people with addiction.
