Joyce L. HANES, 87, of Westfield, PA, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 in her home.
Born August 31, 1936, in Potter Brook, she was the daughter of Earl Clifton and Goldie L. Glover Houghtaling. She was married to Frank H. Hanes, who predeceased her in 1988. Joyce was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.
Surviving are: six children, Donald Hanes of Westfield, Bonnie (Simon) Gigee of Westfield, Goldia (Russell) Wiliford of Chesapeake, VA, Connie Tillinghast of Westfield, Darcy Hanes of Addison, NY, and Joseph Hanes of Westfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Amy Sharp of Westfield and Lottie Slaby of Gaines; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four sons, Eugene Hanes, James Hanes, Gregory S. Hanes, and Edward Hanes; three daughters, Mary Hanes, Eva Hanes, Etta Hanes; five sisters, Sylvia Chandler, Etta Hilfiger, Bonnie Seeley Dunham, Edith Fuller, and Roxie Sharp; and three brothers, Alwin Houghtaling, Raymond Houghtaling, and Stephen Houghtaling.
Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. Rev. Larry O’Dell will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook.
