June E. PROUTY, 85, of Ulysses, PA, died Saturday, November 22, 2025 in UPMC Williamsport. 

Born July 1, 1940, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Merl A. and Pearl Z. Dailey Dent. On August 26, 1961, in West Pike, she married John R. Prouty, who survives. June was a helpmate to her husband, John, who pastored Austinburg Baptist Church and West Pike Baptist Church. She was a member of West Pike Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. June served on the Pike Township Board of Election. 

Surviving besides her husband, John, are: a son, John (Joni) Prouty, Jr. of Ulysses; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Kay) Dent of Groveport, OH; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Venice “Jean” Blazejewski and Marrian A. Bart; and two brothers, Lyle Dent and Merl A. Dent, Jr. 

Friends may call at West Pike Baptist Church, 517 Old Route 6, Ulyssees, PA 16948 on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dennis Crumb will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
