Katherine "Kathi" HUNT

Katherine A. “Kathi” HUNT, 61, of Wellsville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by her family following a long battle with cancer. 

Born on Christmas Day 1963, Kathi was the oldest daughter of Bruce Hunt and Betty (Eugene) Lewis, both of Wellsville. A 1983 Graduate of Wellsville High School, Kathi spent many years as a home health caregiver and found great pride in her work. Kathi had a special affinity for flower gardening, crafting, and event planning. She shared her many talents with friends and family. Spoiling every furry companion she had over the course of her life, Kathi was a big animal lover and encouraged everyone to "share their yogurt" with them. In her free time, Kathi enjoyed time spent with Greg on "The Hill" cooking out and buggy riding with family and special friends, Jeannine and Art Newman, Mary and Mike Fisk, and Matt “Wildflower" Sturdevant. Spending much of the warmer months on the back of Greg's Harley, she enjoyed exploring their favorite routes. 

Surviving besides her parents are: her daughters, Jessica (Kenny) Ordiway and Jennifer (Chris Cook) Green, and son to whom she was fiercely devoted, Jeremy (Kari Palmatier) Peet; her loving and devoted partner of 26 years, Gregory M. Lynch, of Wellsville; and faithful furry companion, Bella. Kathi's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Connor, Jaxson, Jaida, Ashten, Samuel, Josephine, Lincoln, Haylee, Lily, and Emily. She is also survived by a sister, Carol (Eric) Goodwin of Dallas, TX; a brother, Andy (Holly) Hyde of Ulysses, PA; and nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Heather Harris) Gould, Danielle (Marcus Andrews) Gould, Katie (James) Eccles, Craig Goodwin, Jenna, Megan, and Kayla Hyde; several grandnieces and grandnephews. 

A gathering to celebrate Kathi’s life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Wellsville VFW, 250 Maple Street, Wellsville, NY 14895 beginning at 2:00 PM. 

The family would like to thank the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital staff and the Jones Memorial comfort care team. As a family we encourage you to plant and take time to smell the wildflowers in Kathi’s memory.
