Kathleen A. Shea KNOTT, 78, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Highland Hospital, Rochester. 

Born January 28, 1948, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Daniel M. and Mary Elizabeth Purtill Shea. A 1965 graduate of Wellsville High School, she loved being the Lucky Lion mascot. On October 2, 1976, in Raleigh, NC, she married Douglas T. Knott, who survives. Katie loved playing guitar and could be found playing at the VFW on Monday nights. She enjoyed baking, mowing, gardening, and animals. She was an avid Bills and Notre Dame fan. Katie was a friend to everyone she met. 

Surviving besides her husband, Doug, are: two daughters, Margaret Bohne and Kathleen Knott, both of Wellsville; two grandchildren, Sadie Bohne and Jacob Bohne; two brothers, Timothy (Eileen) Shea of Wellsville and Brian (Laura) Shea of Hilton; three sisters, Jeanne (Pat) Purtill of Wellsville, Patty (Douglas) Morley and Peggy (Stan) Atherholt, both of Gold, PA; a brother-in-law, James Manning; a sister-in-law, Shirley Shea; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three siblings, MaryAnn Manning, Michael Shea, and Daniel Shea. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Immaculate Conception Church, Maple Ave, Wellsville.
