Kevin J. BAER

Kevin James BAER, 53, of Port Allegany, PA, a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025. 

Born November 25, 1971, in Olean, NY, Kevin was the beloved son of Betty Mericle Baer and William J. Baer, Jr. A 1989 graduate of Port Allegany High School, he enlisted that same year in the United States Army. Kevin served honorably for 26 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class (E7), a testament to his leadership, dedication, and service to his country. In civilian life, Kevin built a successful and respected career as a flooring installer, known for his master craftsmanship and strong work ethic. He brought the same commitment and care to his work that he did to every part of his life. Kevin was known for his humorous personality, always quick with a witty remark or a well-timed joke. He had a gift for making others laugh and brought warmth and lightheartedness wherever he went. He loved family activities, attending Buffalo Bills games, vacations, spending time with friends, and simply enjoying life’s moments with those he loved most. 

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Baer; his mother, Betty Baer; daughters, Brooke (Ray) Berry and Bryana Baer; stepsons, Joshua Bell, Justin Osani, and Benjamin Osani; sisters, Sue (Mike) Speed, Millie (Chris) Knauer, and Leeanne Baer; and his seven cherished grandchildren, who will deeply miss their “Grampy.” He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Varo, his constant companion and friend. He was predeceased by his father. 

Private burial will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. 

A gathering to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Veterans Memorial Home, 4743 Rte. 155, Port Alleganay, PA 16743. All are welcome to attend and help celebrate the wonderful life Kevin lived.
