Kirt W. Smithmyer

ROULETTE- Kirt W. Smithmyer, 61, of Lanninger Creek Rd., passed away unexpectedly, Monday (Mar. 4, 2024) in his home.

Born Nov. 30, 1962, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Leo G. and Delores J. Hesser Smithmyer.  He had married Michelle Causer.

Kirt was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, class of 1980.

He was a self-employed flooring specialist who installed flooring throughout the area for many years.

Kirt was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing, as well as foraging for ginseng. He also enjoyed shooting darts and pool.

Surviving is a son, Walker W. (Jordan Shaffer) Smithmyer of Port Allegany; a grandson, Ace Smithmyer of Port Allegany; a brother, Lee S. Smithmyer of Hawaii; and a sister, Dreda M. Smithmyer of Roulette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Travis L. Smithmyer, and a brother, George  F. Smithmyer.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m Sunday (Mar. 17, 2024) in the Veteran's Memorial Home, Port Allegany.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
