Larry E. CADY, 82, of Maryville, MO, formerly of Port Allegany, PA, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 in Parkdale Manor due to complications of dementia.
Born September 8, 1940, in Port Allegany, PA, he was the son of Lee and Thelma Daley Cady. Larry lived and loved large and although he will be missed, his family is delighted that he is reunited with his beloved mother who predeceased him on April 6, 2021 at age 105. Larry enlisted in the US Air Force in 1958 and proudly served his country until 1966. In the 1980’s, Larry also served in the US Navy as a Seabee. Larry was a member of Laura Street Baptist Church, Hopkins American Legion Post #320, and the Maryville Elks Lodge #760. He loved to hunt, umpire, and spend time at the family farm that he owned for many years. He also enjoyed classic country music. Larry served his community by volunteering on many boards, including Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union, Maryville Zoning Committee, and served as president of Nodaway County Senior Center and Maryville Bowling League.
Surviving are: his wife, Vicky; his ten children, Debby Owens of Texas, Kelly Claxton of Tennessee, Lauri Heikkinen of Texas, Steve Cady of Missouri, Mark Cady of Nevada, Lance Clark of Nebraska, Katie Kuck of Nebraska, Lari Jones of Kansas, Jennifer McDowell of Missouri, and Joe Cady of Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his devoted sisters, Marylou (Gordon) Erway and Carole (Mike Majot) Briggs; nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Thelma Thomas, Lee Cady, and Gordon Meacham; a sister, Nancy Wells; and a grandson, Brent Cady.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Gold Church, 2402 SR 49 W, Ulysses, PA. Rev. Cameron Cowburn will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.
