Lester A. HUNT

June 24, 1927 — November 2, 2018

Lester A. HUNT, 91, of Wellsville, NY, died Friday, November 2, 2018 in his home.
Born Jun 24, 1927, in Wellsville, he was the son of Wilbur and Grace Marshall Hunt.
On Feb. 10, 1951, in Wellsville, he married the love of his life, Katherine E. Billings, and together they raised six children on the family dairy farm on Hunt Road.
Lester was a hard worker and put everything he had into providing for his family.  He was up before the sun, often worked until well after it had set, and until his retirement in 2006 was rarely at rest.  He enjoyed the company of his family and loved bouncing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on his knee.  Though he lived what could be called an ordinary life for a farmer of his generation, he was an extraordinary man.  His wit and wisdom will be sorely missed.
Surviving are:  four sons, James (Lois) Hunt, Thomas (Rosalyn) Hunt, Steven (Fay) Hunt, and Roger Hunt, all of Wellsville;  two daughters, Debra Hunt of Wellsville and Kristina (Scott) White of Scio;  a sister-in-law Margaret Hunt of Whitesville;  17 grandchildren, including his grandson Daniel (Jessica Waters) Hunt who lived with him in his final years;  many great-grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Katherine;  his brothers, Lawrence, Lyle, Leon, and LaRue;  his sisters, Lena, Lytie, Loretta, Laura, Leola, and Lois;  a grandson, Tyler Hunt; a great-granddaughter, Autumn Hunt;  and a great-grandson, Bryson Hunt.
Services will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com .
