Mae L. EMPSON

Mae L. EMPSON, 75, of Ulysses PA, died Monday, September 26, 2022 in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. 

 

Born February 25, 1947, in Wellsville, NY, she was the daughter of Levi L. and Ruth E. Main Grover. 

 

On August 7, 1963, in West Pike, she married Joe Empson, who survives. 

 

Mae was a member of Tri-Town Volunteer Firemen’s Auxiliary for over 40 years, serving as president for over 17 years.

 

Surviving besides her husband, Joe, are:  three children, Richard (Anita Carter) Empson of Ulysses, Lisa (Brian) Van Gorden of Port Allegany, and Curtis (Stacee Stinedurf) Empson of Warren, OH;  seven grandchildren, Abby, Erika, Max, Alex, Gavin, Zoey, and Owen;  two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Seamus;  a brother, Joe (Robin) Grover of Cross Hill, SC;  two sisters, Liz Main of FL and Lois Grover of Port Allegany;  a special niece, Nichole (Ben) White of Port Allegany; nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Karl Grover, Benjamin D. “Ben” Grover, and Lee Grover; and four sisters, Janet Kalkbrenner, Joyce Sunderlin, Dorcelia Sunderlin, and Sally Grover. 

 

Services will be private. 

 

Memorials may be made to Tri-Town Vol. Firemen’s Auxiliary or the Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company.
