Margarete J. TROIDL, 94, of Belmont, NY, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, in her home. 

Born March 19, 1931, in Beuthen, Germany, she was the daughter of Max and Francisca Lorek Gawlitzeck. She went to school in Beuthen and moved to the United States in 1955. Margarete was a proud photographer and the first female to work the first photo printer in Germany. She was employed in the NICU at Millard Fillmore in Buffalo and then as an aide by Wellsville Manor and Jones Memorial Hospital. She was also a private home health aide in Wellsville. 

Margarete’s children were the light of her life. She was a loving mother to her five children, Sylvia Troidl of Rochester, Bonnie Carpenter of Cheektowaga, Paul Troidl of San Diego, CA, Monica Troidl of Buffalo, and Edward Richie of Belmont; beloved grandmother to her five grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Christoher, Marshall, and Tiffany; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Mason of Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Janny Troidl; a grandson, Jeremy Dirschberger; a sister, Rosal Sandman; and a brother, Rudy Gawlitzeck. 

Friends are invited to a graveside service 11:00 AM, Friday, March 20, 2026 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
