Marion M. MATTESON, 91, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Wellsville Manor Care Center. 

Born October 28, 1934, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of Mart and Helen M. Pelchy Matteson. On February 18, 1956, in the Shongo church, he married Mary A. Greene, who survives. He was employed by Ford & Peckham Construction in Andover, Scoville Brown Grocery in Wellsville, and Air Preheater in Wellsville, retiring in 1996. 

Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are: a son, Brian (Tammy) Matteson of Wellsville; a daughter, Karen (Charles) Annis of Wellsville; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Scott J. Matteson and Alan M. Matteson; a son-in-law, Stanley R. Weinhauer; a grandson, Jarrid L. Matteson; a great-granddaughter, Taylor; three brothers, Orville Matteson, Alva Matteson, and Ernest N. Matteson; and four sisters, Mildred Watson, Iva Austin, Phyllis Denhoff, and Agnes Currier. 

A private graveside service will be in held Yorks Corners Cemetery on a later date. 

Memorials may be made to the Allegany County Office for the Aging or a charity of the donor's choice.
