Mary Anne Losey
PORT ALLEGANY- Mary Anne Losey, 82, formerly of Port Allegany & Austin, passed away Monday (Feb. 6, 2017) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born July 13, 1934, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Edward and Mary McGill McElwee. On Nov. 13, 1954, in Port Allegany, she married Richard Losey, who survives.
Mary was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1952.
Mrs. Losey had worked as a secretary for North Penn Gas Co., Port Allegany, and later with Motor Coil of Emporium, before her retirement.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin.
Surviving are a daughter, Gayle E. (Leslie) Richner of Port Allegany; two sons, Gary (Gina) Losey of St. Leonard, MD, Richard Losey of Shinglehouse; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward “Jim” McElwee of Clarion, and Paul McElwee of Olean,, NY; and a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Corah of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Donna Bosworth.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 9, 2017) with Rev. James Campbell, pastor of the St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Port Allegany.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
