Nathaniel R. “Nate” Howard
PORT ALLEGANY- Nathaniel R. “Nate” Howard, 39, of Sartwell Creek Rd., passed away Wednesday (Feb. 16, 2022) in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA.
Born May 8, 1982, in Coudersport, PA, he was a son of Rodney W. and Judy K. Almony Howard. On May 4, 2011, in Pittsburgh, he married Cassandra L. “Cassie” Foster, who survives.
Nate was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 2000. He graduated from Penn State University, with a BS in Geographic Information Systems, in 2005.
He was self-employed at Howard AgVentures, Sartwell Creek.
Nate enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, & trapping. He also enjoyed farming, & custom food plotting, as well as excavation work; but above all, he loved his children, family, and friends most of all.
He was a member of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Port Allegany, Canoe Place Fish & Game Club, and the Penn. Trappers Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Cassandra, parents, Rodney & Judy, is a son, Maxon P. Howard and a daughter, Briella C. Howard, both of Port Allegany; a brother Nicholas “Odie” Howard, Port Allegany; mother & father-in-law, Linda and Gary Foster, Port Allegany; sister-in-law, Lindsey (Aaron) Covalt; six uncles & five aunts: Harold Ray (Janet) Howard of Roulette, Christian (Carol) Howard of Port Allegany, Tamara Lorenzo of South Carolina, Russell (Sue) Almony of Blossvale, NY, Connie (William) Stegman of Harrison City, PA. Melanie (Sandy) Hallows of Port Allegany, Susan (Barry) Lotman of Palm Beach, FL, Joni Amendola of Georgia, David (Claudia) Foster of Hartford, CT, Brett (Luann) McKervey of Port Allegany, and Keith (Donna) McKervey of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold L. and Edith Howard, and Robert and Dee Almony, and an aunt, Shirley Almony Dyer, and uncle, Timothy E. Howard.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Feb. 21, 2022) with Rev. Allen Long, pastor of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sartwell Creek Cemetery, Burtville.
