Philip L. HERSHEY, 57, of Coudersport, PA, died Friday, September 11, 2015 in his home. Born April 22, 1958, in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of Melvin B. and Alma L. Rohrer Hershey. On June 23, 1979, in Paradise, PA, he married the former Laurel Danforth, who survives. A 1976 graduate of Coudersport High School, he and his wife owned and operated Hershey Farms Market in Coudersport for 30 years. Phil was a member and deacon of the Coudersport Alliance Church. He served on the Potter County Planning Commission and the Coudersport Water Authority. Surviving besides his wife, Laurel, are: his father of East Earl, PA; four children, Toni (Jeremy) Vought stationed with the US Marine Corps in Japan, Zachary Hershey of Raleigh, NC, Sabrina Hershey of Louisville, KY, and Alexander Hershey of Coudersport; two grandchildren, Alyssa Vought and Joshua Vought; two brothers, Fred Rohrer (Mildred) Hershey of Lancaster and Rodney Lee (Joanna) Hershey of Roulette, PA; two sisters, Connie Marie (Russell) Knight of East Earl, PA and Sherri Ann (Jeff) Gilbert of Ephrata, PA; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother. Friends may call at the Coudersport Alliance Church on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 3:00 PM. The Rev. Joe Lazurek and the Rev. Joel Bubna will co-officiate. Burial will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Coudersport Alliance Church or God's Food Pantry, both at 7 Alliance Ave., Coudersport, PA 16915.
