Richard A. JENKINS

August 27, 1950 — June 9, 2025

Richard A. JENKINS, 74, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, June 9, 2025, in UR Jones Memorial Hospital. 

Born August 27, 1950, in Hornell, he was the son of Rubel Hemphill and Phyllis Elaine Thomas Jenkins. 

On January 1, 2010, in Wellsville, he married Ann A. Mericle Baldwin, who survives. 

A graduate of Hornell High School, he attended Fredonia University. He was employed by Kodak in Rochester and retired from Dresser-Rand in Wellsville as a machinist. 

He was a member of the IAM Union and Shongo Country Chapel where he served as an elder. 

Surviving besides his wife, Ann, are: three children, JoAnne Brookes of Columbus, IN, David (Ada) Jenkins of Cleveland, OH, and Laura Loscalzo of Charlotte, NC; three step-children, Jennifer (Greg) Klofer of Lockport, Kristina (Shawn) Colburn of Lockport, and James (Paige) Baldwin of Lockport; 14 grandchildren, Tony, Sonny, Vanessa, Jackson, Olivia, Carson, Tyler, Zachary, Emily, Noah, Lizzie, Reid, Finn, and Quinn; four siblings, Dudley (Theresa) Jenkins, Rubel (Kim) Jenkins, Thelma (Ron) Morse, and John Jenkins; two aunts, Linda Wise and Jean Weber; nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his parents. 

Friends may call at J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, 34 W. State St, Wellsville, on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Shongo Country Chapel, 440 State Route 19, Shongo on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM. 

His brother, Rev. Dudley Jenkins will officiate. 

Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport, NY. 

Memorials may be made to UR Jones Memorial Hospital or the Shongo Country Chapel.
