Rickie Joseph “Rick” SAUER, 77, of Wellsville, NY, passed away in the comfort of his home on August 11, 2026 with his devoted wife, daughter and her partner by his side after a two-month decline in health. 

Born November 25, 1948, in Johnson City, he was the son of Harold F. and Rosemary K. VanSusan Sauer. On July 2, 1989, he married Christel Radloff, who survives. 

He took his apprenticeship at Weber Aircraft in California. He was a precision toolmaker and fixture designer and was supervisor at Rotating Machinery Technology in Wellsville. He enjoyed fly fishing, boating, and classic rock, and in his younger years while living in Modoc County, California, snow skiing, water skiing, and bronc riding. 

Rick is survived by his loving wife; daughter, Christa Zenoski (Jeff Winterhalter) of Belmont; granddaughter, Allea Zenoski (Bryant) of Lincolnton, NC; grandson, Brennon Zenoski (Laura Mattison-Zenoski) and a great-granddaughter on her way, of Macedon; granddaughters, Madison Sauer, Josie Sauer, and Jada Sauer, all of Edmond, OK; two nephews, Stanley Green (Misty) and Nicholas Williams; many in-laws and friends, including Paul and Debra Covert. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Joseph R. Sauer; a sister, Dawn Williams; a son-in-law, Jeff Zenoski; two nephews; and his mother-in-law, Hazel Radloff.
