Robert L. LANE, 84, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY.
Born April 11, 1933, in Pen Argyle, PA, he was the son of William J. and Ruth F. Lane.
On August 28, 1955, in Walnut Valley United Methodist Church, Blairstown Township, NJ, he married the former Elba N. Dennis, who survives.
A 1952 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, he served honorably during the Korean War in the US Army from 1953 - 1955.
Bob was employed as superintendent of construction by Phillipsburg Bridge and Construction Co. for 30 years, maintenance supervisor by Northern Potter School District for 12 years, and operated a farm in Harrison Valley with his son for many years.
He was a member of Blairstown Lodge #165 F&AM, Allentown Consistory, Vail Grange in Blairstown, past chief of Blairstown Fire Department, past president of Blairstown Athletic Association, Walnut Valley United Methodist Church, and past commander of American Legion Post #418, Knowlton, NJ.  He served as a Blairstown Township Supervisor and Health Commissioner.
Surviving besides his wife, Elba, are:  two sons, Rodney E. Lane of Harrison Valley and C. Kevin Lane of Delray Beach, FL;  eight grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren;  a sister-in-law, Helen Lane of East Bangor, PA;  nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Lucinda Lane;  and two brothers, Charles Lane and Kenneth Lane.
There will be no visitation or service.  Burial will be in Whites Corners Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company, 112 E. Tannery St., Harrison Valley, PA 16927.
