Robert L. TILTON

Robert L. TILTON, 84, of Hunt, NY, died Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Wellsville. 

Born February 4, 1939, in Bristol, he was the son of Ernest and Jessie Mitchell Tilton.  He was married to the former Barbara Jean Hopkins for 62 years, who predeceased him on May 28, 2023.  A graduate of Dalton School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army.  Bob was employed by Slawson’s Sawmill in Hunt and by the Town of Portage as a heavy equipment operator. 

Surviving are: five children, Dianna (Mike) Whiting of Naples, Mark (Rhonda) Tilton of Angelica, Tammy Tilton of Wellsville, Marsha Tilton of FL, Amy (Bryan) Woodhouse of West Sparta; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Tilton of Nunda; a sister, Kathy McGinty of Hunt; nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Vasille and Marie M. Carney. 

Cremation was at OLNEY-FOUST Private Crematory.  Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery.
