Obituary

Rodger James DICKERSON, 74, of Avoca, NY, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls. 

Born April 13, 1951, in Wellsville, he was the son of Arvis and Hope Williams Dickerson. A graduate of Wellsville Central School, he served honorably with the US Navy from 1969 - 1971. Rodger was employed as a bartender at the Dill Pickle. 

Surviving are: three children, William Dickerson, Heather Bonanno, and Heidi White; four grandchildren, Jacob White, Faith White, Leo Philip Bonanno, and Sophia Bonanno; four brothers, Arvis (Margaret) Dickerson, Jr. of Mechanicsville, VA, Lowell (Linda) Dickerson of Webster, Robert (Cindy) Dickerson of Bolivar, and Lloyd (Linda) Dickerson of Belmont; a sister, Alice Haskins of Canandaigua; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Philip Dickerson; and a granddaughter, Haley Dickerson. 

Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
