Roland S. "Rip" STEVENS

Roland S. "Rip" STEVENS, 74, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, November 30, 2012 in his home. Born December 3, 1937, in Hector Township, PA, he was the son of Howard and Mayme B. Snay Stevens. On November 8, 1975, in West Bingham, PA, he married the former Charlene M. Baker, who survives. He was employed by Sunnydale Farms, Rankin Dairy, Corning Glass Works, and worked on construction. He was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church, formerly Galeton Assembly of God, and God's New Beginnings Church in Harrison Valley. Surviving besides his wife, Charlene, are: three sons, Wayne R. (Amy) Stevens of Kingsport, TN, Jeffrey S. (Sue) Stevens of Troupsburg, NY, and Howard C. (Regina) Stevens of Lexington, NC; three step-sons, James (Sheila) Lowe of Galeton, Michael Lowe of Sabinsville, and Jonathan Lowe of Westfield; a step-daughter, Dawn Lowe of Ulysses; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray C. (Joyce) Stevens of Galeton, PA; a sister, Audrey (Melvin) Lowrey of Gaines, PA; an uncle, Milton Snay of Coudersport, PA; an aunt, Mary McPherson of Sunderlinville, PA; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Gary S. Stevens, in 1999; three sisters, Beverly Neefe, June Flynn, and Wilma Lowe; and three brothers, Lowell Stevens, Ivan "Jeff" Stevens, and infant, Lester Stevens. Friends may call Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday in the Ulysses United Methodist Church. Rev. David R. Brelo and Rev. John Knudson will co-officiate. Burial will be in Parker Hill Cemetery, Sunderlinville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, c/o Charlene Smith, 893 Simonds Hill Road, Westfield, PA 16950 or Christmas House, 1 Water Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
