Russell L. KIBBE, 89, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Friday, March 31, 2017 in his home.
Born April 12, 1927, in Harrison Valley, he was the son of Ivan and Myra I. Outman Kibbe.
On September 2, 1949, in Harrison Valley, he married Bonita M. "Bonnie" Metcalf, who predeceased him on February 21, 2009.
A World War II Veteran, he served honorably with the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
He was employed by CNG for 38 years, retiring at a superintendent in 1987. He was a member of the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company and served as president of the Harrison Valley TV Association for 42 years.
Surviving are: a daughter, Debra Sitter of Harrison Valley; a son, Russell L. (Lori) Kibbe, Jr. of Radcliff, KY; four grandchildren, Rene� (Randy) Kicklighter of Myerstown, PA, Justin (Ashley) Kibbe of Fishers, IN, Travis (Emerald) Kibbe of Rineyville, KY, and Jessica (Antoine) Huffman of Spring Hill, TN; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan L. "Ike" Kibbe, Jr. and Theodore Kibbe, both of Harrison Valley, PA; two sisters, Betty Metcalf and Loveda (Dale) Potter, both of Harrison Valley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Arloene Jones, Mary Lou Kibbe, Virginia Lampman, and Beverly Tormey; three brothers, Byron Jum Kibbe, Jacob H. Kibbe, and Cleon Kibbe; and a son-in-law, Jerry Sitter.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Carl Greene will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
