Russell M. “Mick” METZGER, III, 73, of Ulysses, PA, died Thursday, January 15, 2026 in UPMC Cole. 

Born September 16, 1952, in Lancaster, he was the son of Russell M. and Janice F. Fisher Metzger, Jr. On April 11, 1981, in Columbia, PA, he married Jeannette E. Murphy, who survives. A Vietnam Veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970 – 1973. Mick was employed as a mechanic and parts manager for many years. He and Jeannette served as stewards of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses for 22 years. He was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses and the Potter County Honor Guard. 

Surviving besides his wife, Jeannette, are: two children, Russell (Amber Coyle) Metzger, IV of Ulysses and Shandi Vossler of Genesee; a granddaughter, Madison (Aundray Morgan) Metzger of Genesee; three sisters, Bonnie Sue Gibble of Genesee, Brenda (Stuart Friedlander) Metzger of Harrisburg, and Karen (Jeff) Wynn of Mount Joy; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Greg Metzger. 

A gathering to celebrate Mick’s life will be announced by Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA.
