Thomas A. MAXON, 85, of Wellsville, NY, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.
Born November 29, 1931, in Springville, NY, he was the son of Adelbert and Genevieve Aultman Maxon.
He was married first to Lorraine Litte and later to Mary Lou Chrimes, both who survive him.
A US Navy Veteran, he served honorably from 1951 - 1955 during the Korean War.
A graduate of Springville High School and Fredonia State Teachers College, he was a teacher at Wellsville Central School.
He was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702 in Wellsville and was affiliated with NASA.
Surviving are: four children, Stacey Stites of Goshen, OH, Darcey Hafertepe of Cincinnati, OH, Heather Maxon of Wellsville, and Thomas Maxon, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Maxon of Kentucky; a sister, Regina Drenning of Springville, NY; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Todd Maxon; and a granddaughter, Hillary Stites.
Honoring his request, there will be no public visitation or service. A private service celebrating his life was held by the family.
